—Michael's intro quote, Trails of Cold Steel III

Major Michael Irving is a ranking RMP officer, and current chief instructor at the Thors Military Academy - Leeves II Campus introduced in The Legend of Heroes: Trails of Cold Steel III. He transferred to the second campus to monitor the curriculum and any agendas.

Appearance

Michael is a tall man with blonde hair. He wears his standard RMP uniform sporting a beret and long trench coat.

Personality

Michael is described as extremely professional and loyal as well as strict, an 'ideal soldier.'

Character Profile

During the Erebonian Civil War, he fought on the neutral faction alongside Prince Olivert while supporting the Imperial Army that was driven into the western part of the Empire.

While he has an open rivalry against Claire Rieveldt, the “Ice Maiden” and on the same rank as him, he seems to somewhat worry about her.

He is assigned to the Reeves II Campus as a chief professor to monitor Aurelia Le Guin, a target of necessary caution, while secretly using the school as a countermeasure against the Jaegers and Ouroboros.

Michael is Claire's elder cousin, but after what happened in their past, he took his mother's surname to sever the ties with the Rieveldt name.

Despite his coldness and rivalry with his cousin, he genuinely cares about her even when he is awkward when giving his affection.

Notes & Trivia

  • His and Kurt Vander's appearance in CS3 hints their names being references to Kurt Irving, the level-headed commanding officer protagonist from Valkyria Chronicles 3.
